Aren't the trigger requirements a bit extreme? By the time any player has three dark monsters on the field, can't you say that they are likely attacking for the game?
Note: My experience with Dark decks is limited to Darkwold.

i think thats the point because they're trying to be careful boosting up darks at this point after such hits as teledad, dark world, inzectors,etc.

Well it helps if something is face down and it doesn't leave e.g Marshamallon, Spirit Reaper, etc.
